We kicked off the 2024/25 season with two senior games on the weekend with 2nd Grade having the bye.
Our First Grade side is looking strong this season with some strong players returning to the club.
First Grade got a solid win against newcomers Nowra Cricket Club at home bowling them out for 170. Young leg spinner Josh Peters on debut took 3-29 and was well supported by fellow young leg spinner Joe Burgess 2-18 and Mick Norris with 2-20. Kiama made light work of the run chase with Dale Scifleet finishing on 60 not out and supported by an aggressive innings from Hyeon Parsons scoring 39.
Third Grade took on Oak Flats at Myimbar lead by new skipper Dane Parnaby, the Cavs found it hard early on with Rats top order on fire until Steven Piper and Jake Lee came into the attack and wickets began to fall, Jake finishing with figures of 2-35 and Steven with 2-31. Kiama started the run chase well with solid contributions from Nick Heinecke with 18, Jacob Regan with 27 but when Nathan Battishall was out on 39 wickets fell consistently falling well short on the run chase.
